Jeremy Manning: Owner/Head Trainer

Jeremy Manning, owner of La Jolla’s Finest Training, has been consulting and training the fine citizens of La Jolla since 1997 when he completed his tour as a United States Naval Helicopter Search and Rescue Swimmer. He also served as a Search and Rescue instructor, Physical Readiness Coordinator and is trained as an Emergency Medical Technician. Jeremy¬† WON the 1998 National Search and Rescue Competition, against 100 of the top competitors from United States Search and Rescue teams from around the world. Since transferring to the private sector he has performed over 30,000 personal training sessions with great success. Jeremy has obtained multiple certification and continually participates in advanced studies of human physiology and biomechanics. Jeremy’s approach to training is an intergrated, whole body concept. Whether your goal is to improve athletism, transform your physique or live life stronger Jeremy’s whole body training methods are a must have.




Jessica Speciale graduated in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from San Diego University with a emphasis in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). With almost a decade of personal training experience, she has also earned certifications with the National Council of Strength and Fitness (NCSF) and The Gravity Training System. She specializes in decreasing body fat by resistance and cardiovascular training, increasing lean muscle mass and strength and prenatal and postnatal fitness programs. She works with clients of all ages and all fitness levels. With her caring and energetic approach to fitness as well as customized nutritional counseling, you can expect result!

Kandal Smith has an outgoing, energetic and caring personality. She earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University, is certified by American Council on Exercise, is Gravity Training System certified and is an IDEA ( Health and Fitness) member. Kandal provides a manageable approach to fitness by setting realistic and achievable goals. She is able to work with a full range of clientele to improve their bodies and lives. She has a passion for fitness. If she is not working with a client, researching for a clients needs or volunteering to help with wheelchair soccer, she is training herself. Kandal is inspiring! Be inspired!

Mara has been working and training in the fitness industry since 1986. She specializes in creating training strategies for functional outcomes for individuals of all ages. Mara is extremely versed in program design and implementation of exercise programs for seniors. She is a Certified Senior Exercise Specialist through the American Institute of Fitness Educators. Mara is also certified through by the American Council on Exercise and the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer. She has extensive training and practical application of balance and stability programs and lifestyle management counseling. Mara takes great pride in her work and strives to motivate and inspire her clients to engage in a healthy, well balanced lifestyle. She believes in personal attention, open communication and building meaningful relationships while working toward each individual client’s goal of lifelong health, fitness and a positive approach to every aspect of daily life. Mara’s philosophy is to “focus on what matters”. It is never too late to start, or restart a fitness regimen. In today’s stressful, fast pace world it is important to remember to focus on your health first and balance the rest. You are the center of your world.

From an early age, Tamara has embraced a life focused on health, fitness and overall well-being. Tamara excelled in track and field and captured the Maine state pole vault record and received a track scholarship to attend the University of Vermont. While there she set the university record and competed in the America East Championships. As part of her training routine, Tamara’s coach suggested that she begin to explore yoga. This ultimately changed her life. The union of body and mind through the connection of breath, movement and higher consciousness was what she had been thirsting for within herself, and she became eager to share this knowledge and practice with others.

Tamara is a certified yoga instructor, personal trainer and is a licensed massage therapist. She is trained and experienced in Thai massage and lymphatic drainage on post-operative patients.

By combining her knowledge of massage, yoga, fitness and nutrition Tamara seeks to help her clients progress towards achieving there optimal state of health. Tamara’s sessions are developed to help each individual cultivate better mind-body awareness, improve muscular imbalances, strengthen and tone the entire body, and ultimately to improve overall wellness.

Mike Spillman


Mike Spillman is a lifelong fitness enthusiast. After serving in the United States Navy, Mike took his passion for health and fitness to a professional level. He is a Certified Fitness Specialist through Mesa College and a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Specialist through American Council on Exercise. Mike has experience working with all fitness levels, beginners to athletes. Whether you are looking to take charge of your fitness, or need to cross-train in preparation for an athletic event, Mike has you covered!

Mike is an avid runner, he has competed in (1) ultra-marathon, (4) marathons, (15) half-marathons, (1) 25K and dozens of 5 & 10K’s. He has trained extensively in cross-training and training progressions for race preparation. Get the most out of your efforts by training with Mike!
